1.8 Revision of the Policy Manual

Volume I, section 1.6 (excluding 1.6.3 through 1.6.7) follows the amendment process as outlined in section 1.6.1.3.  Volume I, sections 1.6.3 through 1.6.7, follow the amendment process of the respective constitutions and bylaws with oversight by the president.  Volume I, section 1.3 follows the amendment process as found in section 1.3.2 of the Board of Trustees By-laws.  The rest of Volume I follows the procedures in paragraph two of this section.

Volumes II, III, V, and VII are revised as appropriate by the administration of Ithaca College through the approval of the president and where appropriate or legally required by the Board of Trustees on the recommendation of the president.

Volume IV, Policies and Procedures Pertaining to Faculty, follow the amendment provisions found in Volume IV.

If any provision of Volumes I, II, III, IV, V, VI, or VII of the Ithaca College Policy Manual is determined to be in conflict with federal, state, or local law or ordinance, or is otherwise illegal, invalid, or unenforceable to any extent, the Board of Trustees shall act or empower the president to act to bring the respective provision and volume into compliance as soon as possible.

Policy Review Submission Form

This form should only be used for submitting revisions to the Ithaca College Policy Manual. If a new policy needs to be added, please notify the Office of the General Counsel at policies@ithaca.edu.

Make sure you:

  • Submit revisions for only one policy per form submission.
  • Complete the form in its entirety.
  • Copy the policy section from the online policy manual and paste it into a Word document.
  • Email the revision document as an attachment. Please attach the Word document to an email, marking all changes to the policy with the Track Changes feature. (Note: This step is in addition to submitting the form, linked below.)
