Clinical faculty, with ranks which include clinical lecturer, clinical instructor, clinical assistant professor, clinical associate professor, and clinical professor, perform both academic and clinically related functions. These include classroom teaching and may include service to clients in on- and off-campus health care units, and/or engagement in practical clinical education of students. In addition, clinical faculty engage in scholarly/professional activities and service responsibilities as defined by the terms of appointment and promotion criteria.
