Jesse Paris Smith

Panelist: Music Composition for Film & Television

Jesse Paris Smith is a composer, instrumentalist, producer, activist, and co-founder of Pathway to Paris. She has performed globally in many configurations, collaborating with other musicians and artists. Her music compositions have been commissioned for films, commercial work, installations, fashion shows, audiobooks, and live film score performances. Her music has been commissioned often by director Steven Sebring (including a short film series which received a Clio Image Award), as well as Aesop, UNDP, and other companies and film makers. She is a graduate of the Sound and Music Institute, a professional training focused on integrative practices of therapeutic music and sound. She also studied Performance Wellness with the late Louise Montello. In 2014, Jesse and cellist Rebecca Foon founded Pathway to Paris, a non-profit organization dedicated to turning the Paris Agreement into reality and offering tangible solutions for combatting global climate change. They have held annual concerts for climate action all over the world, bringing together musicians, politicians, artists, scientists, and activists together to unify in a global dialogue. Jesse was born in Detroit and has lived in NYC for over 20 years.
