“Our goal is always to teach kids. I think where the biggest burnout comes is when all the other stuff happens. So I had a really big physical aggressor last year. I had deals with people throughout the building that if I said, ‘Okay class, you're going in this classroom,’ they would open up their doors, let the rest of my kids in, and I could handle the one kid that I needed to. My administration really backed me."
“A few years ago, we lost every single one of our administrators. By October, we were running the school by muscle memory because we didn't have a single administrator (….) And the thing is that I can rely on every single person in this building to not only support my kids, but also me, and they know that I would do the same thing for them (...) If there is aggression or something happening, people will immediately help you with anything, and that makes it all a lot easier.”
