Industry Partnerships

Work as an adventure educator, environmental educator, character education programmer, wilderness therapist guide, technical skill instructor, base camp manager, and in search and rescue. Students are exposed to the outdoor industry through multiple partnerships and collaborations national organizations including Outward Bound, the Wilderness Medicine Training Center, and the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. These partnership expose students to current industry standards, practices, and trends and often lead to internship opportunities. Employment of recreation workers is expected to grow 14% from 2012 to 2022, as fast as the national average for all occupations. According to the Outdoor Industry Foundation, the outdoor recreation economy accounts for $730 billion annually and 6.5 million jobs in the U.S.
