Exciting Changes Happening in CIE

Announcing the Center for Instructional Design & Educational Technology

This summer President Cornish announced changes to the division of Information Technology, including the evolution of our Learning & Innovative Technology department into the new Center for Instructional Design & Educational Technology (CIE), which will have an expanded focus on instructional design services to support faculty use of technology for teaching and learning.

Our team of three Instructional Designers and a Senior Learning Applications Administrator are dedicated to supporting faculty on course design and the exploration and application of technologies. We are redesigning the Job 102/103 space as a faculty-centered space for technology support and exploring emerging technology tools like VR, AI, and prototyping. Faculty can meet with our Educational Technology Center Coordinator to incorporate creative hands-on activities that  supports course curriculum.

Our strong partnership with the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) will allow us to grow our services and be more effective in working with faculty at all levels of technology adoption.

Contact the CIE staff today to learn more. Stop by the Educational Technology Center in Job 102 or email us at edtechcenter@ithaca.edu
