Course Redesign Overview

Faculty completing the AI Literacy Faculty Institute may apply for a stipend to redesign a course. The redesign will integrate AI concepts throughout instruction, assignments, and assessments, with implementation occurring in 2026–2027.

Course Redesign is a project that will only be offered to those faculty members who complete the AI Intensive Course and want to make significant changes through course redesign. Faculty who participated in the AI Literacy Course will have the opportunity to apply for an additional stipend to support the implementation of AI-informed course redesigns. Successful applicants will work on a selected course where they integrate AI tools and digital literacy strategies into their curriculum. They will document their process and outcomes, which will contribute to a larger institutional knowledge base on AI integration in teaching.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Analyze and evaluate the role of AI in higher education and its impact on pedagogy, assessment, and student engagement.
  2. Develop AI literacy skills, including ethical considerations, data literacy, and AI-generated content evaluation.
  3. Implement AI tools to enhance instructional design, teaching methodologies, and student engagement strategies.
  4. Make significant redesign to a course, incorporating AI and digital literacy components in instructional delivery, resources, assignments, or assessments.
  5. Engage in reflective practice and contribute to a community of practice that fosters continuous learning and collaboration around AI integration in education.

Dissemination of Learning and Course Redesign Presentations

Faculty who received funding for course redesign will present their learning and implemented changes. This live event will provide an opportunity for faculty to showcase their work, share insights, and inspire others to integrate AI into their teaching practices. The event will also serve as a networking and knowledge-sharing opportunity for the broader academic community.
