"Wind masterworks of the 20th century" is the theme of an upcoming concert by the Ithaca Wind Quintet.

The free performance will be at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. The program will include music by John Harbison, Karel Husa, Carl Nielsen, and Elliott Carter.

The Ithaca Wind Quintet was founded in 1963. Its members are all faculty members at the Ithaca College School of Music, and include Wendy Herbener Mehne, flute; Paige Morgan, oboe; Michael Galván, clarinet; Lee Goodhew, bassoon; and Alex Shuhan, French horn. The quintet tours throughout the northeast performing concerts and giving master classes and demonstrations at conventions, universities, and high schools. They have premiered works of Dana Wilson and Karel Husa, among others.
