Jazz aficionados will have concerts by two IC groups to enjoy this weekend -- the Ithaca College Jazz Workshop and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

Thursday, April 14, 8:15 pm, Ford Hall
The Ithaca College Jazz Workshop, under graduate director Keaton Akins, will perform with Lew Soloff as guest trumpet soloist. A brilliant high-note trumpeter long in great demand for big bands and session work, Soloff is also a distinctive soloist and an expert with the plunger mute. After studying at Juilliard, he freelanced in New York with Maynard Ferguson, Joe Henderson, and Clark Terry, among others, and then was a part of Blood, Sweat & Tears from 1968 through 1973.

Saturday, April 16, 8:15 pm Ford Hall
The Vocal Jazz Ensemble will present a concert directed by Lauri Robinson-Keegan, ("Cookie Coogan").
