Roy H. Park School of Communications

Park School students can participate in the New York City Internship Program (offered fall and spring semesters), which is the core of the College’s presence in New York City. All juniors and seniors, regardless of major, are invited to apply. Second-semester sophomores will be considered if it makes academic sense.

New York City internship students enroll in one 6-credit internship (or two 3-credit internships) and at least 6 credits of coursework. Participants are required to be full-time students; that is, they must be enrolled at Ithaca College for a minimum of 12 credits.

Park students have interned at locations such as Rolling Stone, Saturday Night Live, 5W Public Relations, Aero Films, and more.

“I interned at both CNN and CNBC during my semester in New York City. At CNBC I worked in the digital department. Every day I was either in the control room or out doing a field shoot with reporters. They made me feel like I was a part of the team. I got to edit packages, pitch ideas, shoot footage, and execute my own ideas. I never imagined I would be working in business and financial
news—and now I love it!”
