Bio Statement
Her involvement on the Ithaca College campus has grown in ways that have shaped her values and sense of purpose. Through her volunteer service at the Food Pantry, she became committed to giving back to her community. Combating food insecurity is something she cares about, and volunteering at the Food Pantry made her realize how many students rely on this resource. Volunteer services strengthened her compassion and reinforced her dedication to supporting others in meaningful, hands-on ways. Service is more than just an activity to her – it reflects the kind of person she strives to be, which is giving back to her community. She is also an active member of the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA), a student organization that fosters leadership, cultural pride, and professional growth. As part of the marketing team, she creates flyers for events with her colleague and collaborates on ideas to increase engagement across campus. Through this role, she helps support and strengthen the community while developing her creativity, leadership, and teamwork skills. These experiences have fueled her passion for service and leadership, and she remains committed to making a positive impact within her campus community and beyond.
What doe it mean to be an IAP Scholar?
To me, being an IAP Scholar means growth, confidence, and meaningful involvement on campus. It represents expanding my network, strengthening my academics, and embracing my presence and leadership as a person of color at a predominantly white institution.
