Bio Statement
Over the past semester, Rowan Catandella has been deeply engaged in community service and campus involvement, dedicating her time to initiatives that strengthen both Ithaca College and the broader community.

Her leadership extends into several student organizations where she has taken on meaningful event-planning and cultural programming roles. She successfully hosted major campus events, including the Nuvo Fall ’25 Showcase, the Alza La Bandera Hispanic Heritage Celebration, and Noche de Baile, each contributing to a more vibrant and inclusive campus community. As an executive board member of Nuvo A Cappella and Poder Latinx Student Association, she continues to apply her skills in marketing, communication, and cultural advocacy to enrich the student experience. To serve her community, she worked alongside Peer Leadership, where she supported first-year and sophomore students as they navigated class registration and adjusted to academic life at IC, ensuring they felt confident and welcomed. Throughout the academic year, she has also worked at the Academic Success Center, where she supports students through effective communication, problem-solving, and peer guidance. Her commitment to leadership and service was recognized through her selection as a BOLD Scholar, an award that highlights students who demonstrate exceptional potential, resilience, and dedication to empowering others.

Looking ahead, she will continue her involvement on campus while preparing to study abroad in Spain this coming spring, where she hopes to expand her cultural understanding and further develop her academic and professional goals.

What does it mean to be an IAP Scholar?

To me, being an IAP Scholar represents the opportunity to pursue my goals while actively contributing to my campus community. Through my involvement in student organizations and other campus leadership roles, I am able to develop my skills, support others, and make a positive impact on those around me. Being part of IAP affirms that the effort I put into both my studies and my engagement on campus matters, and it motivates me to continue striving for personal growth and achievement.
