Bio Statement
Arthur Zhu is a very involved and service-minded individual who attends Ithaca College, whose activities on campus demonstrate his deep involvement in leadership, socializing, and community service. During the past year, Arthur has been the Vice President of Ithaca College Rotaract Club, wherein he has actively participated in helping administer, organize, and sustain all major operations of the entity. As a part of his role in the club, he has actively contributed to organizing service projects, meetings, administrative decisions, and sustaining projects that address civic duty and involvement in and out of campus environments.
Aside from his involvement in the club’s governance, Arthur is an active participant in the campus life at Ithaca College. He does this by joining different student organizations that involve service, reflection, and building relationships with other people, such as Lighthouse Christian Fellowship’s Cereal Ministry, Ithaca Catholic, and the Ithaca College Chess Club. By doing so, he is able to participate in voluntary service and constructive conversations in order to develop his sense of responsibility for the well-being of others while retaining his commitment to the value of compassion. Academically, Arthur has shown excellent Academic performances, which depict dedication to excellence and hard work, in addition to his responsibilities outside of class. As a way of recognizing his performances and talent, he received the Ithaca College Scholarship award.
With a focus on looking ahead towards the coming fall semester, Arthur plans on maintaining a leadership role in Rotaract as well as staying very active in service-related and student-centered clubs on campus. Arthur's activities at the college are indicative of his passion for helping others and making a difference in the Ithaca College community.
What does it mean to be an IAP Scholar?
For me, joining IAP means stepping into a vital stage for my campus life. I am really grateful for this platform that allows me to have more chances to participate in community services and better understand and appreciate our delightful campus culture. Also, it adds a huge amount of responsibility, which helps me to better face the challenges in life. IAP is not just a program; it's a promotion to my life.
