Meet CeCe ’28

MAJOR: Sports Media (Roy H. Park School of Communications)
INVOLVEMENT: Park Scholar, ICTV (Host, Analyst, Reporter, and Producer), ESPN+ (Broadcaster and Production Assistant); NHL Network (Contributor)

There are a lot of other schools that don’t allow you to be on air your first year. You have to wait until your junior or senior year. Ithaca gives you the opportunity to jump into it right away.

CeCe ’28

CeCe is a character—an animated character, that is—for the NHL. There’s nothing “aspiring” about this sports media major; she’s already doing exactly what she set out to do. A connection with IC alumnus and sports broadcaster Bruce Beck ’79 helped her with a breakout opportunity for NHL Hockeyverse Weekly Wrap-Up, where she appears as an animated version of herself.

A lifelong athlete and storyteller, CeCe discovered sports journalism in high school, inspired by her love of competition and curiosity about people’s stories. At Ithaca College, she hit the ground running. Through ICTV and Park School opportunities, she was on air within weeks—gaining experience as a host, reporter, and anchor covering IC athletics. CeCe is also part of the Park Scholar Program, a scholarship awarded students who demonstrate excellence in academics and a commitment to service and responsible, ethical communications.

This summer, CeCe continued to sharpen her skills as a summer sideline reporter in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
