Social Studies Education:
Growing up as a “third-culture” kid while living in multiple countries has shaped my passions in history and international politics. I am interested in political and social history, particularly analyzing the different decolonization movements during the 20th century, as well as political theory. I believe that analyzing these subjects serve as important guides towards better understanding the practical and ideological elements of contemporary social movements, calls for reform, and even the development of revolutions that we see across the world today. History has always been both fascinating and of great importance to me as it allows us to approach modern issues with deeper understanding and greater insight. In today’s political and social climate, understanding history is as important as ever. I am interested in a wide variety of subfields, but most often am drawn to American history and our responses to both foreign and domestic issues. With future plans to go into law and government, I have also declared a legal studies major. I’d love to help anyone else who is interested in history or legal studies and who needs guidance on classes. I can help my peers with their academics and overall college experience.
From a young age I was always interested in history. Currently I am interested in global history due to its wide range of interconnections. I'm also interested in learning more about Latin cultural history. I've always believed that history allow us to understand the present and what might occur in the future. I want to teach my students one day that history is not only the past. I would love to talk to anyone who is interested in studying history or thinking about teaching history in the future
