Student Awards and Funding

The History Department is pleased to be able to offer a number of scholarships and awards to our students, including

The Elliot Mayrock History Scholarship (for an incoming first year or transfer student declaring a history or social studies major),
The David W. Sass History Scholarship (for "outstanding achievement in the study of history" by a junior/senior history student -- click to see past recipients),
Multiple Robert Ryan History Scholarships (awarded for excellence in history demonstrated by GPA and application materials), and
History Department (f/k/a Elliot Mayrock) Writing Award (for the best seminar paper of the year).

To be eligible, you must be a History major planning to continue at Ithaca College as an undergraduate student and History major during the coming academic year.

Funding Opportunities Outside the Department

Funding for individual student projects -- internships, travel to archives or to conferences, and more -- may also be available through the H&S Dean's office or the IC Provost's office.
