The Ithaca College Choir is recognized through its annual tour, performances at ACDA and MENC Conferences, and international concerts as one of the most innovative ensembles at the collegiate level. In the spring of 2015, the Choir returned to Alice Tully Hall to sing in an exciting program of contemporary music called "MusIC of Our Time." The Choir portion of the program was called "Dancing Between Darkness and Light" and featured a premiere of "We Dance!" by Dominick DiOrio. Choir appeared at Alice Tully Hall again in April 2017, where they collaborated with the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra to present Samuel Barber's "Prayers of Kierkegaard" and to premiere "SOLARIS: A Choral Symphony in Three Movements," another thrilling work by DiOrio. Most recently, the IC Choir was selected to perform at the ACDA Eastern Division Conference in Pittsburgh. Their program, entitled "Bent But Not Broken: Strength of the Human Spirit," featured diverse and challenging repertoire and was met with high acclaim. Shortly thereafter, the Choir returned to Ithaca and finished off the Spring 2018 semester with a successful performance of Mozart's Requiem with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra.
The Ithaca College Choir has toured extensively on the East Coast and in the South and Mid-West United States, and in 2002 they performed in Ireland. The Choir has presented major concerts at the American Choral Directors Association Conference in Providence, the Music Educators National Conference in Baltimore and Providence; Lincoln Center Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Cooper Union in New York City; the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, the Troy Savings Bank in Troy, NY and the Strand Theatre in York, PA. In addition to the a cappella tradition, the choir has performed with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
For each of the last thirty-nine years, the Ithaca College Choir has premiered a work at the Ithaca College Choral Composition Festival.
