Active Ithaca College degree students register for the winter session online beginning November 9, 2020 using HomerConnect. Winter session charges are billed through Student Financial Services.

Winter session registration is on a space-available basis. Online registration will remain open for add/drop by matriculated students until 11:59 pm January 11, 2021.

Nondegree students will register for winter session courses by completing an online request to register form. See the nondegree study site for details. The registration deadline for nondegree (extramural) students is December 15.

The Audit option is not available for winter session courses.

Drops and Withdrawals

Students who need to drop a course should do so online using HomerConnect, the student information system, during the add/drop period. Extended Studies must approve all summer session late drops. Generally, late drops are not approved. Students wishing to withdraw must complete a Withdrawal Form and submit it to the Registrar's Office with all required approvals. Add/drop and withdrawal deadlines can be found on the relevant term's Academic Calendar.

Note: Cessation of class attendance or notification of the instructor is not considered an official drop or withdrawal. Unless students officially drop or withdraw from a course, they are still registered for the course and will receive a grade of F even though they did not attend class. It is the student's responsibility to add, drop, or withdraw from a course.

Enrollment Limits

Students may register for up to 4.0 credits during the winter session. To seek approval for a credit overload, please download and complete the Winter/Summer Credit Overload Approval Form found among the student forms on the Office of the Registrar's site (login required).

Winter Session Tuition

Winter session tuition rates are $500 per credit hour.

Graduate tuition rates vary by program.

Winter session is not part of the Ithaca College fall or spring semester and is not normally covered in full-time tuition payments for either semester with the exception of the one-time three-credit offer to full-time matriculated students for the Winter and Summer 2021 session (learn more). Please contact Student Financial Services to determine how enrollment in winter session impacts any financial aid award.

Auditing is not available during the winter session.
