Leonard B. Job
1931–1957
Leonard was the third president of Ithaca College, in office from 1932 to 1957. He is credited with saving the college from bankruptcy and enabling it to survive the Great Depression and World War II. He also oversaw the college's move from downtown to South Hill. Job Hall is named in his honor, as is the Leonard B. Job Scholarship, which supports outstanding juniors and seniors.

Kyle E. Johnson '00
1998–2000
Kyle, a student trustee, served on the Buildings and Grounds Committee and the Educational Policy Committee. He was a Student Government Association representative and a member of the African-Latino Society, as well as the Campus Life, Diversity Awareness, Leadership Advisory, and Recreation Center Design Committees. Kyle received the Campus Life Award in 2000.

Nicole Young Johnson '94
1992–1994
As a student trustee, Nicole served on the Buildings and Grounds Committee, the Educational Policy Committee, and the Institutional Advancement Committee. She was a Charles A. Dana intern and was instrumental in founding the Student Alumni Association. In her senior year, Nicole received the Faculty Award and the Campus Life Award. Since graduating, she has served as a career services volunteer.

Russell Johnson
1965–1985
During his 20 years as a trustee, Russell served as chair of the Investment and Finance Subcommittee and the Executive Committee. He was a dedicated and generous supporter of the School of Music.

Robert J. Joynt
1994–2012
Bob was elected to the board of trustees in 1994 and served as chair of the Educational Policy Committee from 1995 to 1998. He retired from the board in 1998 and was an honorary trustee until 2012.

Elia Kacapyr, Parent '05, '07
2004–2007
Elia is professor and chair in the Department of Economics and served the board as a faculty trustee. He was a member of the Buildings and Grounds Committee, the Educational Policy Committee, and the Institutional Advancement Committee. He was also a member of the Faculty/Staff Campaign Committee from 2006 to 2008.

Michael J. Kaplan '85
2001–2004, 2011–2014
Mike's tenure on the board is just one way he's stayed involved with Ithaca College. He served on the IC Alumni Association Board of Directors for 25 years and has volunteered in many other ways: with the Office of Career Services, the IC Mentoring Network, and the Business School Advisory Council, to name a few. He has supported scholarships for students and funds that enrich the campus experience. In 2012, he received the Edgar "Dusty" Bredbenner Jr. '50 Distinguished Alumni Award.

Daniel E. Karson '69
2003–2007
As a trustee, Dan was active on the Audit Committee, which he chaired; the Educational Policy Committee; the Executive Committee; the Investment Committee; and the Trusteeship Committee. He also was a member of the School of Humanities and Sciences Advisory Committee and currently serves on the school's board of advocates.

James P. Kavanagh '27
1955–1957
James served briefly on the board before his death in 1957. He distinguished himself while a student at IC. He was a member of the Amards Drama Group and was president of the senior class in 1927. He also received a silver medal in oral English in 1926 and was a member of the Oracle Honor Society.

Margaret Daum Keating '28
1943–1948
In addition to her time as a trustee, Margaret served on the IC Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1942 to 1947, including a stretch as its president. A renowned singer, she performed at the college's 50th anniversary celebration in 1942.

Joshua M. Keniston '08
2006–2008
Serving as a student trustee wasn't the only way Josh distinguished himself at IC. He was a member of the men's crew and a senior class officer, and received the Academic and Community Leadership Award and the Campus Life Award. As a trustee, he sat on the Campus Life and Community Committee and the Educational Policy Committee. As an alumnus, he is a volunteer for the IC Mentoring Network.

Jay R. Kennedy
1957–1966
While a trustee, Jay lobbied the board to improve the television-radio department and was successful in expanding its facilities and programs. He was the principal speaker for the gala opening of the new television and radio studios in 1958. That same year, Jay received an honorary doctor of letters degree from Ithaca College.

Christopher B. Knauer '76, M.S. '90, Parent '04, '06
1986–1988
Chris was a staff trustee. He first worked at the college as assistant registrar, a position he held for a decade before leaving for another position. He then returned as IC's registrar, a position he held for seven years. He also volunteered for his reunion class committee.

M. Robert Koren
1989–1992
While a trustee, Robert served on the Buildings and Grounds Committee, the Compensation and Benefits Committee, the Institutional Advancement Committee, and the Trusteeship Committee.

Robert E. Kur '70
1987–2004, 2005–2010
Bob was active on several committees and served as chair of the Educational Policy Committee and the co-chair of the Campus Life and Community Committee. In 1981, he received the School of Communications' Ceracche Distinguished Achievement Award, and in 1988, he delivered the Commencement keynote speech. As a student, Bob served on the President's Host Committee, and was a reporter and producer for WICB-FM and ICB-TV.

Christopher J. LaCroix '79
2009–2015
His service on the board is one of the many ways Chris has remained involved with Ithaca College. He chaired or co-chaired three committees while a trustee, and is currently a member of the business school's Investment Advisory Board. Chris has created scholarships for students in the School of Business and has also established several funds in support of IC's business investment track programs and athletics programs. As a student, he was an athlete himself, playing on both the basketball and soccer teams, as well as playing men’s club rugby.

Rita Dickinson LaRock '42, M.S. '49
1986–1991
As a trustee, Rita served on the Audit and Finance Committee and the Institutional Advancement Committee. She was a member of the physical education faculty at IC for many years, earning the Faculty Recognition Award in 1974. In 1977, she was inducted into the IC Athletic Hall of Fame and in 1988 received the Distinguished Alumni Award. Rita was named professor emerita in 1983 and served on the IC Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1984 to 1993.

David J. Laub, Parent '71
1965–1982
During David's 17-year tenure on the board, he twice served as chair, first from 1970 to 1976, then from 1980 to 1981. The Laub Family Scholarship was established in his memory in 1982. It is awarded to a student in the School of Music who demonstrates outstanding performance ability, solid academic achievement, and financial need. He was the father of Frederick Laub '71 and grandfather of Elizabeth Laub '00.

David A. Lebow '83
2009–2016
David's service included three years as vice chair of the board. He also chaired the Assessment Committee and served on the Buildings and Grounds, Campaign Planning, and Investment Committees, among others. He was instrumental in forming the Park School Board of Advocates and also participated in the President's Roundtable. He and his wife established the David A. Lebow '83 and Betsey Ladd Lebow '84 Scholarship, awarded to outstanding students in the Park School who are likely to contribute to the communications field and who are committed to the campus community.

Christopher G. Lee '10
2008–2010
A student trustee, Chris sat on the Campus Life and Community Committee and the Educational Policy Committee. He was also a member of the President's Host Committee, the Student Government Association, and Ithacappella. Since graduating, he has remained active with the college, serving as the young alumni chair for the IC Annual Fund and volunteering with the IC Mentoring Network.

Elaine J. Leeder, Parent '93
1998–2001
Elaine began teaching in IC's Department of Sociology in 1977 and became a full professor in 1989. She was on the faculty until 2001. During her last three years at IC, she served as a faculty trustee and sat on the Educational Policy Committee and the Investment Committee.

Walter G. Leiding '76
1974–1976
In addition to two years as a student trustee, Walter was a resident assistant, a student advisor, an orientation leader, and a member of the Ithacan staff, the Student Government Association, and the President's Host Committee. He stayed involved with the college after graduation by volunteering as an alumni admissions representative.

Max H. Levine, Parent '90
1990–1997, 1998–2010
Max was elected to the board in 1990 and served as chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee for six years. In 1998, he was named an honorary trustee. Max and his wife, Judy, served as co-chairs of the Ithaca College Parents Fund from 1987 to 1989. Max helped establish the Robert Rackow Scholarship and the Howard Alper Memorial Scholarship.

Judith Samilow Linden '73
2002–2012
Judi, a longtime volunteer for IC, served on the board's Campaign Steering Committee, Educational Policy Committee, Institutional Advancement Committee, and Trusteeship Committee. In 2007, she and her husband, Jay, established the Jay L. Linden '72 Sales and Marketing Scholarship, awarded to an outstanding communications student.

T. Michael Long
2002–2012
During his time as a trustee, Mike served on several committees, chairing two: the Buildings and Grounds Committee and the Investment Committee. He also served as the co-chair of the National Leadership Council during the college's first comprehensive campaign. Mike is currently chair of the President's Roundtable, and is a generous supporter and an advocate of the college.

Ciara V. Lucas '17
2014–2016
Ciara was a student trustee, and was elected to the board at the end of her freshman year. She is a Martin Luther King scholar, majoring in journalism with dual minors in sociology and French. She served on the Educational Affairs Committee and the Enrollment and Communications Committee. She served as president of the Junior Class Council.

William A. Lyons
1965–1982
William served as chair of the Executive Committee from 1972 to 1981, then as chair of the board from 1981 to 1982. Upon his retirement from the board, he was named an honorary trustee. In 1974, he and his wife established the William A. and Fern N. Lyons Scholarship for students in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Margie Malepe
2004–2007
As a staff trustee, Margie served on the Audit and Finance Committee, the Buildings and Grounds Committee, the Campus Life and Community Committee, and the Presidential Search Committee. She has served in various roles with the Office of Campus Center and Event Services since 1987 and is currently the director.

David C. Mandeville
1975–1984
David served as a member of the Educational Policy Committee and as chair of the Resource Planning Committee. He was a loyal donor to the college and made several significant gifts, including funds for the multipurpose room in the Gannett Center. He also served as chair of the President's Associates during 1977–78.

Aniello M. "Niel" Massa
1989–1992
Now professor emeritus, Niel was on the faculty of the accounting department for 30 years, and served as chair. A faculty trustee, he sat on the Educational Policy and Institutional Advancement Committees. On his retirement from IC, the Aniello Massa Accounting Scholarship was established in his honor. It is awarded to outstanding sophomore or junior accounting majors.
