Join and Host Remote Meetings

Microsoft Teams and Zoom offer the ability to join and host remote meetings with audio, video, and content sharing capabilities

Remote Meetings

Individuals

  • Remote meetings can be hosted or joined via a computer or mobile device. It may be beneficial to consider additional peripherals when working remotely including a web camera, headset with a microphone, and wireless keyboard and mouse.

Groups

  • When hosting or joining a meeting where people are gathering in a physical space as well as remote, the physical space needs to be equipped to accommodate remote attendees.

  • Considerations should include what video options are available for remote attendees to see the host or the group. Audio capabilities should also be considered in order for remote attendees to hear the group and vise versa.

  • Many meetings or classroom spaces provide some of this technology, but needs will vary by situation. IT can help identify the right technology solutions via a consultation request >

  • If you are having a meeting on campus and need web conferencing equipment you can reserve technology loaner equipment through the IT Service Desk >
