Ithaca College has been named to Money’s “Best Colleges in America” list for 2025, based on its quality, affordability, and student outcomes. The personal finance digital platform scored more than 2,400 four-year colleges and universities, with only 732 making the grade for inclusion.
Intended to help students and families make informed decisions about higher education, the Money list offers a practical analysis based on the philosophy that there is not one, singular best college for everyone.
To create the list, Money weighs dozens of data points in three categories:
- Quality of education, which was calculated using such factors as graduation rates, peer quality, instructor access, and financial stability.
- Affordability, as determined by factors including the net price to earn a degree, net price paid by students in different income brackets, estimated average student debt upon graduation, and percentage of students who are making progress repaying their debt one year after leaving school.
- Outcomes, calculated by considering earnings 10 years after college entry, employment outcomes in the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard, graduates’ earnings adjusted for majors, and an economic mobility index.
Money uses a star ranking system for the included schools, with Ithaca College achieving 3.5 stars out of a possible 5.
Among other higher education rankings, Ithaca College was also featured in the 2025 edition of the Princeton Review’s “The Best 390 Colleges” and the 2025 “Best Colleges” edition of U.S. News & World Report, which lauded IC for its teaching, value, and innovation.
