Ithaca College Music Students to Perform at Lincoln Center on Eve of Cortaca Jug

“Legacy in Sound” will bring four Ithaca College student ensembles to Alice Tully Hall ahead of the 2026 rivalry game at Yankee Stadium

Students from Ithaca College’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will perform at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Friday, November 13, at 7 p.m., bringing several of the college’s premier music ensembles to New York City ahead of the 2026 Cortaca Jug game between Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland at Yankee Stadium the following afternoon.

“Legacy in Sound: Featuring the Next Generation of Music Educators and Performers” will feature the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, directed by Daniel Cook; Jazz Ensemble, directed by Mike Titlebaum; Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ho-Yin Kwok; and Choir, directed by Khyle Wooten.

Program highlights will include a commissioned work by composer and Ithaca College professor emeritus Dana Wilson, performed by the Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble; Adolphus Hailstork’s Shout for Joy , performed by the Choir; and the final movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, bringing together the Symphony Orchestra and Choir. The Jazz Ensemble will also perform selections by Les Brown and Steve Brown.

The concert highlights Ithaca College’s long tradition of preparing outstanding musicians, educators, and arts leaders through rigorous training and transformative performance experiences. Whether pursuing careers as performers, teachers, scholars, or creative professionals, students carry these experiences into the ensembles, classrooms, and communities they will serve throughout their lives.

The concert is made possible through the generosity of Charles Hack ’69, a music education graduate, and John Neeson ’84, an economics graduate.

For many of our students, including those preparing for careers in music education, these experiences become foundational to the work they will do throughout their lives. We are deeply grateful to Charles Hack ’69 and John Neeson ’84, whose generosity makes this opportunity possible and helps sustain a remarkable IC tradition. With our musicians performing at Lincoln Center on Friday evening and the Cortaca Jug at Yankee Stadium the following day, it will be an unforgettable weekend for the Ithaca College community at two iconic New York City venues.”
