Our Mission

The Office of Student Engagement provides innovative and collaborative learning opportunities to empower all students at Ithaca College to feel a sense of belonging, explore their passions, and make a difference.

History

In August 2009, the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs formally came to be, encompassing the efforts of the former Office of Multicultural Affairs, Office for New Student Programs, and Center for Student Leadership & Involvement when it became clear that the work of each office was integral to the work of the others, and the staff members began to collaborate. In September 2006, the individual offices moved to one physical location, and the staff continued to craft intentional, comprehensive programs to engage Ithaca College students. We are proud to now work together as one unit to enhance the Ithaca College experience and further our students' learning.

In June 2018, OSEMA was restructured into three separate offices, all are still located on the third floor of Campus Center:

  • Office of Student Engagement
  • New Student and Transition Programs
  • Center for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, And Social change (IDEAS)
