  • "Free range" & "Cage free" barns are the most inhumane and unhealthy conditions for chickens. They don't get to roam freely.
  • The livestock industry is responsible for 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Supermarkets are behind 10% of all U.S. food waste, 43 billion pounds annually.
  • Transportation generates about 28% of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • 71% of all human emissions come from just 100 companies.

What Can I Do? 

  • Reduce meat.
  • Get your protein from legumes (beans, peas, lentils, peanuts) instead.
  • Replace dairy with soy or hemp alternatives.
  • Reduce transport footprint by buying less non locally sourced alcohol.
  • Consider GMO crops. They can have a lower carbon footprint than untreated and organic crops.
  • Organize, protest & demand legislation change to achieve long-term solutions.
  • Eat local in season produce.
