Bio Statement
Jasmine Foster is junior a Vocal Music Education major with a concentration in Jazz Studies at IC. She is also an Ithaca Achievement Program Scholar and a BOLD Women’s Leadership Network Scholar. Over the last year, Jasmine Foster has been on the eboard for two clubs at IC: the music director for Amani Gospel Singers and the community liaison for Black Artists United. Through those two experiences, she has learned a great deal about time management, event planning, balance, and leadership. Being a student leader, she has better learned how to serve her peers and her community. As a BOLD Scholar, she has focused on developing her career through goal setting and networking. Outside of these organizations, she was presented with two specific opportunities this year to explore her career field. Ithaca College’s Whalen School for Music hosted a Choral Highschool Invitational in the fall, where Jasmine was able to participate as a volunteer and performer. She has also recently attended the American Choral Directors Association Conference in Providence, Rhode Island where she furthered her development in her field. There she attended sessions, rehearsals, and concerts concerning conducting, teaching, and vocal pedagogy.
