Bio Statement
Aditya Valecha is a first-year student at Ithaca College studying computer science and finance. He is extremely passionate about leadership, innovation, and problem-solving. Aditya has been an active member of the Student Governance Council (SGC) as a senator-at-large since his first semester at Ithaca. As a senator-at-large, he serves as a representative for all the students in Ithaca College. Aditya participates weekly in SGC full senate meetings by discussing and representing student-related issues to fellow senators and administrators through the establishment of campus-wide policies, as well as advocating for the interests of students and positively contributing to initiatives that promote the effective representation of students on the SGC.
In addition to his role as a senator-at-large, Aditya is a member of the Appropriations Committee, where he reviews requests for funding from student organizations, makes recommendations for the allocation of funds to promote student programming, and supports initiatives to improve campus life. During his time on the Appropriations Committee, Aditya has provided critical input into the evaluation of proposals, collaborated with his peers, and ensured that funds allocated by the committee to support student programs are allocated in a fair and responsible manner.
Through his educational and co-curricular experiences, Aditya is engaging in the integration of leadership, technical skill development, and collaboration at Ithaca College to continue to make a positive impact in the Ithaca College community while preparing for his career in technology.
What does it mean to be an IAP Scholar?
Being an IAP Scholar means that I have the opportunity to challenge myself academically while also contributing meaningfully to the Ithaca College community. It represents a commitment to using my education not only for personal growth but also to create positive impact through leadership, collaboration, and service.
