Interested applicants must:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
  • Be able to demonstrate current (and past) continued service in their local communities through a social justice lens.
  • Be ready to clearly articulate throughout the application process their leadership involvement and expand on their personal development bec

Steps to Apply

1. Apply to Ithaca College before December 1!

2. Complete the MLK Scholar Program application in IC Connect. The application will be available after you apply to IC.  (Please note that you will not be able to access the application until you have submitted your application for admission to Ithaca College.) You do not need to be admitted to submit your MLK Application. 

3. Stay tuned for upcoming virtual engagements, info sessions and opportunities to engage with the Program Director and current Scholars . 

4. Watch your email. If you are selected as a semi-finalist, you will be informed about your next steps.

Important Dates and Deadlines

MLK Scholar Program Application Deadline: December 1

Candidates will be notified via email about their standing after a first-round screening and review of applications 
conducted by our review team. Semi-finalists will receive information to submit additional application materials  on IC Connect.
