Next Steps In the Process

Before You Begin...

Interested applicants must:

Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.

Be able to demonstrate current (and past) continued service in their local communities through a social justice lens.

Be ready to clearly articulate throughout the application process their leadership involvement and expand on their personal development because of those experiences.

Be willing to stay committed to service, program requirements, academic excellence, and social justice throughout their four-year experience at Ithaca College.

Getting Started

Next, candidates should:

1. Apply to Ithaca College.Visit the Admission site to review application deadlines and program-specific requirements for admission consideration.

2. Complete the MLK Scholar Program application in IC Connect. The application will be available after you apply to IC. The deadline is December 1. (Please note that you will not be able to access the application until you have submitted your application for admission to Ithaca College.)

3. Stay tuned for upcoming info sessions and opportunities to engage with current MLK Scholars. 

4. Watch your email. If you are selected as a semi-finalist, you will be informed about your next steps.

Important Dates and Deadlines

MLK Scholar Program Application Deadline: December 1

Candidates will be notified via email about their standing after a first-round screening and review of applications 
conducted by our recruitment team. Semi-finalists will receive information to schedule an interview with one of our Program Support Team members.

Interviews will be conducted and additional programs for semi-finalists will be available. 

Students admitted to the Scholar Program will be notified and announced.
