Designed for practicing music educators, this flexible graduate program allows teachers to advance their expertise while remaining in the classroom. Students participate in three intensive five-week summer sessions featuring coursework in contemporary and historical issues in music education, advanced instrumental techniques, rehearsal and conducting techniques, research and bibliography, psychology, and other topics in music education. Personalized one-on-one faculty mentoring during each summer, combined with ongoing support throughout the academic year, ensures that students receive individualized guidance as they develop a professional portfolio and complete a culminating presentation showcasing their growth as reflective, research-informed music educators.
