As a Theater Administration major, Molly Heichel ’27 was eager to gain hands-on experience. She found it through an internship with Chester Theatre Company, where her responsibilities ranged from managing box office ticket sales and creating social media content to interacting with patrons and assisting with a production of A Case for the Existence of God.
“I had never directed before, so stepping into that role was both exciting and intimidating, but it turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my internship,” Molly says. “I helped with everything from prop creation to contextual research about the play’s setting, and I learned so much about the collaborative process of bringing a story to life on stage.”
What truly lit Molly up was the creative process, especially directing and storytelling. “This internship reminded me of why I chose theatre in the first place: to connect, to create, and to tell meaningful stories. I now see myself pursuing roles that allow me to stay close to that artistic spark.”
