Find Meal Support During SNAP Benefit Interruptions

boxes of shelf stable food

When SNAP benefits are temporarily unavailable, accessing food can become more challenging. Below you'll find information about food resources available to our community as well as a few ways to share support.

Receive Support

Students are all eligible to receive free meal swipes through the Swipe Out Hunger program during the SNAP benefit interruptions. Students who would like to secure meal swipes should contact Student Financial Services at sfs@ithaca.edu

Employees are all eligible to receive free meal swipes by completing this form Requesting Meal Swipes Form. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact the Center for Equity Inclusion and Belonging via email: eib@ithaca.edu OR phone: 607-274-7011.

Students and employees can use these meal swipes at any dining hall locations (cafes and retail options are not included), and "reload" more than once- as needed! You do NOT need to be on a meal plan to receive meal swipes.

Visit Prunty’s Pantry. The pantry is open to all students, staff, and faculty five days per week. Check online for hours. If you have time conflicts with open hours and need to schedule a visit at another time, please contact Sybil Conrad, Director of the Campus Center, at sconrad@ithaca.edu.

Access Ithaca College Employee Emergency Relief Fund. The Ithaca College Employee Emergency Relief Fund was established to provide financial assistance support to Ithaca College IC faculty and staff who are experiencing a financial hardship due to a Catastrophic Event or Temporary Emergency. The Emergency Relief Fund is supported entirely by voluntary donations from Ithaca College faculty and staff who elect to assist their colleagues during their time of need.

Visit Human Services Coalition Calendarto see which pantries are available on specific days.

Free TCAT rides for EBT card holders during SNAP benefit disruption. TCAT is offering free rides to NY EBT card holders to travel to and from local food banks, community meals, grocery stores or other support services, effective immediately and until SNAP benefits are fully restored.

Visit Mutual Aid Tompkins/Cortland Sharing Cabinets. Community members have set up blue outdoor food cabinets across the county. These cabinets are regularly stocked with non-perishable food and are open to anyone. View a map of the locations here.
