Canadian-American soprano Elise Noyes is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music heralded for her versatility in operatic, musical theatre, and choral works alike. She was selected as the first prize winner of the Jessie Kneisel German Lieder Competition in 2022, in addition to being chosen as a finalist for the Friends of Eastman Opera Voice Competition in 2021. Her recent performances include Eastman Opera Theatre’s Into the Woods as Cinderella, La Calisto as the title role, and Isabel in Pirates of Penzance with Rochester Summer Opera. In November she was featured with SUNY Geneseo Symphony Orchestra as the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, and she has appeared as a featured soloist for the Eastman Bach Cantata series. Her pedagogical methods focus primarily on breath and body awareness, as well as text connection throughout various languages and styles. This Fall she is excited to be participating in the Joy in Singing Art Song Competition, in addition to an active schedule as a recitalist. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Alberta (with distinction), as well as a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. Ms. Noyes is currently supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Anne Burrows Foundation, in addition to being on faculty in the voice department at Ithaca College.
