Dental Coverage

Ithaca College’s dental plans offer comprehensive coverage for most conditions requiring diagnosis and treatment. You have two plans to choose from. The Legacy Prime Dental Plan offers a higher benefit maximum and does not include orthodontia services. The Ortho Advantage Dental Plan has a maximum annual benefit of $1,500 for general services and has a separate $1,500 annual benefit for orthodontia. It is important to note that only children up to age 19 are eligible for the orthodontia benefit. 

Your out-of-pocket expenses will be lower if you choose to be treated by a provider in the Delta Dental network. Find in-network providers at deltadentalins.com. You may use any Delta network with our plans.

If you seek care from an out-of-network dentist and your provider does not submit the bill directly to Delta Dental for you, you will need to complete a claim form, attach the bill, and send it to Delta Dental so that you can be reimbursed directly.

Anyone who does not enroll when first eligible may be considered a “late entrant.” For the first 12 months of coverage, late entrant benefits are limited to two preventive care cleanings and exams (excluding X-rays) as well as one fluoride application for children under the age of 19. The late entrant rule does not apply if you have a qualified life status change during the year.
