The Middle States Steering Committee is pleased to share an important update in Ithaca College’s reaccreditation process: a draft of our Middle States Self-Study Report is now available for campus-wide review and feedback.
This report, which is accessible beginning today, September 29 , represents over two years of collaboration by more than 60 faculty, staff, and students. Working across seven committees and reviewing more than 900 pieces of evidence, these contributors have developed a seven-chapter draft aligned with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) standards.
MSCHE is a regional association that performs peer evaluation and accreditation of public and private universities and colleges in selected regions of the United States. An accreditation review, which includes a self-study report and site visit, is conducted every eight years for each member institution.
Share Your Feedback: Middle States Self-Study Draft Now Available
We Need Your Feedback by October 20
We invite all members of the campus community—faculty, staff, and students—to review the draft and share your feedback through an online feedback form available on the Middle States Reaccreditation website.
We are especially seeking “big picture” input related to the report’s content and clarity. As you review, please consider:
- Content and Evidence Accuracy
Does the narrative accurately reflect Ithaca College’s work and the supporting documentation? Is there important context that’s missing? - Alignment with Institutional Goals
Are the college’s priorities and contributions clearly and appropriately represented? - Flagging Errors or Uncertainties
If anything seems inaccurate or unclear, please flag it so we can review further.
What Happens Next?
After the feedback period closes on October 20 , the work of the Middle States reaccreditation team will focus on evaluating the feedback that we receive and making final revisions to the self-study report before it is formally submitted to Middle States. Dates are also still being finalized for a campus visit from a Middle States peer evaluation team which will take place during the Spring 2026 semester.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful feedback and for supporting this vital institutional process.
Sincerely,
