As we close the Spring 2025 semester, we’d like to provide the community with an update on the work of the Middle States reaccreditation team. The chapter drafts completed in the Fall 2024 semester received a series of reviews by both the Middle States Steering Committee and college leadership to ensure accuracy, highlight any areas that might be missing from the draft, and further refine the documents.
This work continued throughout the Spring semester, as each working group fine-tuned their chapters and it has now culminated in the first complete draft of the report. This report will be submitted to our in-house professional editor, J. Warburton, in the upcoming weeks and they will ensure that it speaks with one voice. This document will be shared with the campus community for additional input during the Fall 2025 semester.
During the Fall 2025 semester the work of the Middle States reaccreditation team will focus on evaluating the feedback that we receive and making final revisions to the report before it is formally submitted to Middle States. Dates are still being finalized for a campus visit from Middle States which will take place during the Spring 2026 semester.

The Middle States Reaccreditation Process
In March 2023, Ithaca College announced the start of its periodic reaccreditation process with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), a regional association that performs peer evaluation and accreditation of public and private universities and colleges in selected regions of the United States. Every eight years, IC is required to submit a Self-Study Report, followed by a campus visit by an MSCHE board of examiners.
