Kickoff time changed to noon.

The New York Yankees have announced that the 2022 Cortaca Jug football game between Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland at Yankee Stadium will be broadcast live on the YES Network. As a result, the kickoff time for the game on Saturday, Nov. 12, has been changed from 1:00 p.m. to noon.

The number one regional sports network in the country, the YES Network owns the exclusive local TV rights of the 27-time World Champion New York Yankees, the Brooklyn Nets, Major League Soccer’s New York City FC, and the WNBA’s New York Liberty. It is available from a number of television service providers nationwide, with a total distribution to some 9.5 million homes.

“This provides an opportunity for those who are unable to make it to the game in person to experience it as well. And, of course, this also provides a tremendous opportunity for Ithaca College to be exposed to a far bigger audience than we otherwise could have hoped for.”

Susan Bassett ’79, associate vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics

“We are beyond excited to learn that this historic matchup will get a network television broadcast,” said Susan Bassett ’79, associate vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics at Ithaca College. “While we look forward to having a full Yankee Stadium on game day, this provides an opportunity for those who are unable to make it to the game in person to experience it as well. And, of course, this also provides a tremendous opportunity for Ithaca College to be exposed to a far bigger audience than we otherwise could have hoped for.”

Bassett said that students in the Roy H. Park School of Communications will have the benefit of working as part of the YES Network broadcast, which will also be streamed by Ithaca College Television at ICTV.org. The college’s student-run radio station WICB will air the game as well, to Central New York at 91.7 FM and streamed everywhere at WICB.org.

A limited number of game tickets remain available for purchase to the general public directly at Ticketmaster and at cortacajug.com. Ithaca College students, faculty, and staff can sign up through Monday, October 10, for same-day roundtrip transportation by bus. Because of the newly announced noon kickoff, the buses will leave campus at 6:30 a.m. in order to arrive in time.

The 63rd annual edition of the Cortaca Jug game is the centerpiece of Ithaca College’s weekend-long “IC in the City—Reunion and Cortaca ’22” experience in New York City, November 10-12. Click here to check out and register for the complete list of exciting events being planned for the weekend.
