Sophomore gymnast wins program’s 13th individual title.

Ithaca College’s winter sports season drew to a close last week, and in the process, its trophy case got a little heavier. At the 2019 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, Courtney Christoforo ’21 won an individual title in uneven bars, scoring a 9.675 to pace the field.

Christoforo became the eighth gymnast in the program's history to earn an individual title at the NCGA Championships, and her title was the program’s 13th. She is the third gymnast to win a title on uneven bars, joining Lisa Gould '85 and Sandy Picioccio '87, who both took home titles during their senior years.

The 29th student-athlete to earn an individual title in their respective sport, Christoforo secured the athletic department's 45th individual title at a national level competition. Her performance helped the Bombers finish in fifth place in the team standings with a score of 187.975.
