The entertainment publication highlighted success by alumni and opportunities for current students.

The online entertainment publication The Wrap has once again included Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications in its annual list of the top 50 film schools in the country. The sixth-annual rankings were determined through anonymous polling of more than 1,200 industry insiders, including filmmakers, deans, pundits, and educators.

This year, the Park School was ranked 19th. In its writeup, the publication shone a spotlight on the varied paths alumni have taken in the industry. Some of these include Liz Tigelaar ’98, who is the writer and executive producer of Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere”; Bill D’Elia ’69, a producer of the show “How to Get Away with Murder”; and Callie Tresser ’10, manager of original programming strategy & planning at HBO.

“This ranking shows that Park continues to adapt to an ever-changing media landscape. Industry professionals know that when they hire a Park School grad, they're going to get someone who will outwork others.”

The ability to produce graduates who can excel in a variety of careers with the industry is something that interim dean Jack Powers recognizes as a long-standing strength of the Park School.

“This ranking shows that Park continues to adapt to an ever-changing media landscape. Industry professionals know that when they hire a Park School grad, they're going to get someone who will outwork others,” he said.

The Wrap also highlighted the Iger-Bay Endowed Scholarship. The $1 million scholarship is funded by executive chairman and former CEO of Disney Bob Iger ’73 and his wife Willow Bay. The scholarship is awarded to incoming students who hail from communities that are historically underrepresented and underserved in these fields at Ithaca College and nationally. The inaugural recipient of the scholarship was Damani Madir ‘24.
