MUSIC

“Balance and Swing: Relationships in Music and Contradance Choreography,” an Ithaca Music Forum presentation by Crystal Peebles, assistant professor of music theory, history and composition; 5 p.m., McHenry Lounge, Whalen Center.

“The Transformative Power of Music,” a multimedia presentation by Grammy Award-winning performer and ethnomusicologist Steve Gorn, 7 p.m., Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center.

SCREENING
Screening of “La Jaula de Oro,” a dramatic film based on the reality of migrants who make their way from Latin America to the United States, followed by a discussion via Skype with director Diego Quemada-Díez; 6 p.m., The Forum, Peggy Ryan Williams Center.
