Show will run select dates April 24-May 1.

The Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance concludes its 2023-24 theatre production season with the Tony Award-winning “Urinetown, the Musical.” With book and lyrics by Greg Kotis and music and lyrics by Mark Hollman, “Urinetown” is a satirical musical that follows a world where it is a privilege to pee.

“Urinetown” will be presented in Clark Theatre and runs select dates between April 24 and May 1. This production will be directed by Gavin Mayer, with choreography by Aimee Rials and music direction by Jeff Theiss.

A post-show discussion will be held after the Saturday, April 27, 2:00 p.m. performance.

Due to a 20-year water shortage within a city, the government has put a ban on all private toilets. Citizens are forced to use public amenities and surrender to a corporate company profiting off this drought. In this satirical musical comedy, characters must pay a fee to pee. “Urinetown” showcases genuine issues in our society such as corporate greed and how money affects us all in diverse ways.

“Urinetown” is presented through a special licensing arrangement with Musical Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
