24-hour giving event celebrates the Ithaca College experience.

Ithaca College’s 2021 Giving Day demonstrated the power of Bomber pride when nearly 3,500 donors contributed an incredible, and record-breaking, $1.85 million over 24 hours to support current students.

On Tuesday, April 26, alumni, faculty, staff, families, and friends from around the world will once again rally to support current and future IC students on Ithaca College Giving Day

“We are a community of care on South Hill, and Giving Day empowers our community to maximize our impact and show how deeply we care about supporting students on their journey,” shares Wendy Kobler, vice president for philanthropy and engagement. “Every gift we receive, no matter the amount or allocation, is immensely appreciated.”

"When I think about the core reason that I give, it always comes down to simply this: I got something at IC that I can’t pay back. And I was taught that if you can’t pay it back, then pay it forward."

Giving Day

Donors can support a myriad of Ithaca College funds and causes on Giving Day. Many choose to make a gift to the IC Annual Fund that powers that comprehensive IC experience. Others, like Lauren Kaufman ’09, choose to contribute to an area they find particularly meaningful.

“I am proud to make a financial gift to IC’s Hillel so that students have the opportunity — like I did — to keep their religious traditions alive despite being miles from home,” Lauren shares. “I know that even a small gift is appreciated by IC and contributes to students having a meaningful and well-rounded experience on campus.”

There are also many fundraising challenges with corresponding prizes that amplify a donation on Giving Day — for example, In honor of IC’s founding year, the donor who makes the 1,892nd gift of the day will receive an extra $250 in support of the school or fund associated with that gift.

"I donate my time and money to Ithaca College to show my appreciation and gratitude for all that I learned and the people I have met. I want to support future generations of Bombers. The IC annual fund is a terrific and necessary way to give back!"
