‘Stand-Up & Vote’

By Dan Verderosa, August 24, 2018
Proceeds from comedian Mike Birbiglia's show will go to voter-registration efforts.

Stand-up comic Mike Birbiglia will bring his “Stand-Up & Vote” tour to Ithaca College’s Athletics & Events Center for an evening of comedy and voter registration on Friday, September 7, at 7 p.m. Special guest performers include Emmy Blotnick, Nick Griffin, Jo Firestone and Seaton Smith. All net proceeds from the show will go to HeadCount, Rock The Vote and Vote.org, three nonprofit, nonpartisan organizations that register voters and encourage voter turnout.

“If I could go back in time I would have started voting when I was younger,” said Birbiglia. “To help encourage students to vote I'm planning shows at colleges. These are the exact lineups I would want to see at a comedy show so I just booked the shows myself.
