Ticket Sales Begin Soon for 2022 Cortaca Jug Football Game at Yankee Stadium

Tickets for the 2022 Cortaca Jug football game between Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland at Yankee Stadium will go on sale beginning at noon (EST) on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff time. Ithaca will be the home team for the 2022 contest.

The tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or cortacajug.com at prices ranging from $24.50 to $69.50. Fans may purchase up to 19 individual seats, and a dropdown menu will allow purchasers the option of sitting on the Ithaca College side of the stadium (first base / right field) or on the SUNY Cortland side (third base / left field). All tickets will be delivered digitally, and mobile presentation will be the sole method of entry.

In September, the schools and 5167 Sports Media LLC announced that they had partnered with the New York Yankees to have Yankee Stadium play host to the 2022 Cortaca Jug rivalry game. Once referred to by Sports Illustrated as "the biggest little game in the nation," the Cortaca Jug was played in 2019 before a Division III-record crowd of 45,161 fans at MetLife Stadium, with IC prevailing 32-20. The Cortaca Jug was not contested in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, and this fall's matchup will take place on Nov. 13 at SUNY Cortland.

Group Sales

For ticket purchases of 20 or more, fans should use the group ticket form on the CortacaJug.com website, indicating their preferred location and a second choice. All requests will be processed subject to availability. The group ticket contact will be responsible for remitting payment at the time the order is placed. Additionally, the group ticket contact will be responsible for distributing any mobile tickets that are purchased. All ticket sales are final, and no refunds will be given for any reason.

Campus Community Tickets

Seats on the 400 level of Yankee Stadium will be reserved for Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland students, faculty, and staff at the price of $24.50. These tickets will be sold by the respective schools in the fall of 2022. Members of the IC and Cortland campus communities may purchase seats in advance of the campus on sale during the general ticket sale that begins on Nov. 16.

All fans are highly encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible to ensure the availability of the best possible seats of their choice.

IC in The City – Reunion & Cortaca ‘22

Ithaca College will also be holding IC in The City - Reunion & Cortaca '22 — its 2022 reunion and homecoming event — the weekend of Nov. 10-13 in New York City, with a series of activities being scheduled to take into account this distinctive location. Along with the Cortaca Jug game as the weekend centerpiece, the annual Alumni Awards Celebration, Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and dinners and receptions for celebrated class years are among the events being planned. Details will be announced in the coming months.

Marriott Marquis hotel

The Marriott Marquis, located in Times Square, will serve as the exclusive host hotel for the weekend, with room blocks available under the event name “2022 Cortaca Jug Football Game at Yankee Stadium.” The special rate is $259/night for the nights of Thursday, Nov. 10 through Sunday Nov. 13. The number of rooms at this special rate are limited and are available only until the block is full. You can book a room for one or both of those nights and you can add nights to your booking that extend beyond our room block; however, those additional nights will have varying rates.
