Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Meghan Musnicki Returns to Ithaca College

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and Ithaca College Athletics Hall-of-Fame inductee, Meghan Musnicki returned to her roots over the weekend to address an eager women's crew program at Ward Romer Boathouse.

Musnicki, who won her second gold medal in the women's eight this past summer in Rio, gave the team a glimpse of what training at the highest level entails before opening the discussion to questions and answers.  She also allowed the team an up-close look at each of her medals as individuals were allowed to pose for photographs wearing them.

Now a 17-time medalist including 12 gold medals in international competition, Musnicki helped guide the Bombers to back-to-back NCAA Division III Championships in 2004 and 2005 and would go on to be inducted into the College's athletics hall of fame in 2013.  A First-Team All-American during her time at IC, Musnicki was a member of the United States National Team from 2010-2015 and was a member of five World Rowing Championships.

Women's crew begins its season on Saturday, October 1 at the Challenge on the Canal in Geneva while the sculling team hits the water for the first time this fall on Sunday, September 25 for its lone home event as the Bombers host the Cayuga Invitational on Cayuga Inlet.
