Members of the campus and local communities are invited to join in honoring our nation’s veterans at Ithaca College’s 17th Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 7. The one-hour program begins at noon in Ford Hall in the Whalen Center.

Serving as master of ceremonies will be professor emeritus Art Ostrander, retired dean of the School of Music. The celebration will feature a presentation of the colors by the ROTC Tri-Service Color Guard and music by the Ithaca College Brass Choir and Treble Chorale.

The keynote address will be delivered by Michael Howze, an administrator at the college who is an Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War. A master sergeant in the Air National Guard, he serves there as a senior manager for equal opportunity. He previously served as a logistics supervisor with the Guard and held director positions with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. With more than 20 years of experience in leading civilian and military organizations and departments, his areas of expertise include organizational leadership and behavior, strategic planning and direction, and mentoring and coaching.

The celebration is sponsored by the Ithaca College Veterans Day Committee. For more information, visit ithaca.edu/veterans.
