Welcoming Interim President Cornish

By David H. Lissy and Jim Nolan, August 30, 2021
Message from David H. Lissy '87 and Jim Nolan '77.

Dear Ithaca College Community,

It is our great pleasure on behalf of the board of trustees to welcome and congratulate La Jerne Terry Cornish, who today begins her term as interim president of Ithaca College for 2021-22.

Dr. Cornish is poised and prepared to continue the incredible work already under way at the college, and we reaffirm the board’s utmost confidence in her ability to successfully and seamlessly lead IC during this academic year. Indeed, Ithaca College is on the right path—and having her at the helm will provide us with the continuity and momentum necessary as we continue to achieve forward institutional progress as laid out in the Ithaca Forever strategic plan.

We would also like to once again express our gratitude to Dr. Shirley M. Collado for her service to Ithaca College.  We look forward to working with her as a senior advisor to Interim President Cornish and the board of trustees during this transition period.

The board continues its diligent work to determine the best approach to planning for the next Ithaca College president and discussions will continue throughout the fall as we solidify those plans.

We offer you all our best wishes for a healthy and productive start to the new academic year. And when you have the opportunity, please offer your best wishes to Interim President Cornish as well.

Sincerely,

David H. Lissy ’87
