Assistive Listening Devices

Emerson Suites

The Emerson Suites are equipped with an FM assistive listening system operating on the 72MHz range and the frequency of the FM listening system in each suite is clearly posted. Listening devices can be checked out at the Campus Center and Event Services office, the information desk in the Campus Center lobby, or by contacting a Campus Center and Event Services manager at the time of the event. Advance notification is not necessary, but would be helpful.

Ford Hall/Hockett Family Recital Hall

Those who know they will need an assistive listening device for an event held in Ford Hall/Hockett Family Recital Hall should notify the event planner in advance, although last-minute requests are welcome and can usually be fulfilled. Listening devices can be checked out at the coat check window.

Park Auditorium

The Park Auditorium has a built-in assistive listening system and five sets of earphones and induction loop devices. Those needing to use these devices should notify Tommy Inman (607-274-7303) as far in advance as possible.

Portable Devices for Other Facilities

Campus Center and Event Services has one portable listening device that can be used in rooms that do not have a built-in assistive listening system. Those wanting to check out a portable device should contact Paul Galgoczy (607-274-3313).

Portable devices are also available through Student Accessibility Services and students typically check these systems out for a full semester. Because some of the devices are checked out for long periods of time, availability is limited. Departments can check out unused devices for specific events.
