COMMITTEE DUTIES/CHARGES:
On or before February 1 of each academic year, this committee reports to the provost and sr. vice president for academic affairs with a proposed calendar for not less than the third succeeding academic year. A calendar proposed by the committee shall be well advertised. This committee shall also evaluate each year's calendar and assess other university and college calendars.
MEMBERSHIP:
The registrar; the provost or designee (ex officio, without vote); the associate provost for graduate and professional studies; three faculty members drawn from Faculty Council members; two students, designated by Student Government Council; one staff member, designated by Staff Council; the director of athletics; one representative from the Division of Advancement; one representative from the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life, and the director of new student and transition programs. Designated members shall serve for two-year terms; there is no limit on the number of successive terms a designated member is permitted to serve. All members will act as a liaison between the committee and their constituent group, ensuring that the interests and concerns of the faculty, students, and staff are represented in the committee’s recommendations regarding the academic calendar.
