Steve TenEyck serves as Dean of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance (MTD). Prior to his appointment as Dean, he held several leadership roles within the school, including Associate Dean for MTD, Chair and Associate Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts. He also taught in the BFA in Theatre Production and Design program at Ithaca College. His teaching portfolio included foundational design courses, design courses including architectural lighting, production mentorship, computer-aided design, and script analysis for theatre.

Before transitioning fully into academic administration, Steve maintained an active freelance career as a lighting and set designer. His professional work spans a wide range of regional theaters, opera companies, and performance organizations across the United States, including The Dallas Theater Center, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Gulfshore Playhouse, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Tri-Cities Opera, Syracuse Opera, Tacoma Opera, Minnesota Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Mill City Summer Opera, Anchorage Opera, Madison Opera, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Kitchen Theatre, The Hangar Theatre, Pacific Performance Project, Big Art Group, The Actors Company Theatre, Santa Barbara Dance Theatre, and Ensemble Theatre Company.

In addition to his theatrical work, Steve has designed for live events with CS Production Services, BSI Productions, Affinity Group Ltd., and The Herson Group LTD. His clients have included Princeton University, Northwestern University, Cornell University, Texas A&M University, the University of Tennessee, Amherst College, The Lawrenceville School, Binghamton University, and The College at Brockport. His architectural lighting projects with Gallegos Architectural Lighting Design include work for The Brain Shoppe, LEGO Retail Stores in Anaheim and Chicago, San Diego Zoo retail spaces, the Mississippi River Discovery Center, Warner Bros. Movie World in Spain, and numerous high-end residential installations.

Steve earned his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with an emphasis in theatrical design, and his M.F.A. in stage design from the University of Washington School of Drama. He is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829, the union representing professional theatrical designers.
