Confidentiality and FERPA

Confidentiality

It is of the utmost importance that all individuals (faculty, administrators, academic support staff and work-study students) understand the need to ensure the confidentiality of our students' conduct records. Maintaining the confidentiality of specific records is not only important from an ethical standpoint, as it relates to our students, but it is absolutely essential from a legal standpoint.

The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards will not disclose student conduct information on without the student's express permission or unless such a disclosure is permitted under other College policies. Please see Ithaca College policy manual section 7.1.1 for general FERPA policies and 7.1.2 for the Student Conduct Code.
